An Evil Brew

My cabbages are getting rather large.

They are also being attacked by devious little flying monsters who use them as a breeding ground for the perpetuation of their species.

They lay their eggs right inside the inner leaves...

...and those eggs hatch into little green caterpillars that think they have the right to feast on my cabbage's leaves.

Ha!

We'll see about that!

There is no way in heck I'm letting this carry on!

After examining the budget, and then pricing Derris Dust... and then re-examining the budget...

...I've decided to give something else a try.

 Introducing:

A foul brew...

*cackles with glee*

Made from 1 tablespoon of Cayenne Pepper, half a tablespoon of Chilli Powder and 7 cloves of garlic.
Add hot (but not boiling) water and steep for two days...

Strain and spray onto offending pests.

I can't wait!

Heaven help The Frog if he gets hold of the spray bottle this is destined for...

Hmmm - I'm going to have to teach him not to touch it!

  1. You can always pick the little blighters off by hand for the next two days! Great pregnancy photos too.

  2. I've been doing that - whenever I see them, apparently if you leave the squished ones on the leaves it is a deterrent in itself - it didn't work!
